Dunlop Aircraft Tyres appoints Mike Askew as CEO

Birmingham, UK - UK-based Dunlop Aircraft Tyres has appointed Mike Askew as CEO. He joins the “world's only†dedicated aircraft tyre manufacturer and retreader from APPH Group, a company that designs and manufactures hydraulic systems and landing gears for commercial and military aircraft.
Askew had been managing director at APPH for almost three years and before that he held senior positions at Doncasters and GKN Westland Helicopters.
At the same time, Dunlop Aircraft Tyres' chairman and managing director, Ian Edmondson, has been appointed deputy chairman of the group's holding company, Castle Equity Ltd.
Since Ian joined Dunlop Aircraft Tyres in 2007, the company's annual turnover has doubled to over £40 million (Euro 50 million) and the firm has successfully expanded its production capability both in the UK and overseas, including the opening of a distribution and retreading facility in China.
“Ian's strategy of geographic expansion and product development has been tremendously successful,†said Askew. “I look forward to using my experience and working to build on these achievements at this exciting time for the company.â€
