Komaki City, Japan -- Tokai Rubber Industries said it has formed a joint venture in China to make automotive hoses. The JV Is expected to begin production of air-conditioning and other hoses by the end of this year (2012). Production will take place at the factory of the Chinese partner, Shanghai TIP Automotive Parts Co Ltd
Tokai will hold 60 percent of the equity in the venture and the unit is expected to employ 330 when it achieves full production in 2016. The factory has a floor area of 19,000 square metres.
