Jyco plans new products for industrial/construction markets
ERJ staff report (DS)
Ann Arbor, Michigan - Jyco Sealing Technologies - best known for its automotive profiles - is developing new products for the non-automotive segment. According to John McGovern, manager of the Jyco Industrial Products Division, the company has recently prototyped end products including lawn edging, drip irrigation systems, patio planters, ladder rack wear strips, and exterior door seals for residential and commercial construction.
Jyco formed its Industrial Products Division in 2010 to handle the company's non-automotive business and product development, including specialty vehicles. Since then, Jyco has produced seals for poultry coop fans, residential doors and windows, and funeral caskets, and has found a growing market among OEMs of specialty vehicles. They now manufacture over 200 seals for RVs, buses, shuttles, handicapped-friendly taxis, heavy trucks, and a variety of electric and dual-fuel vehicles.
