Trelleborg acquires Brazilian printing blankets business

Trelleborg, Sweden -- Trelleborg has completed the acquisition of Printec, the printing blankets business of Day Brazil SA. Printec has a strong presence in Latin America and in the US with a single production facility in Brazil, Trelleborg said in a 12 Sept news release.
Printec has annual sales of approximately SEK 250 million (Euro 29.3 million) and has approximately 160 employees.
The acquisition strengthens Trelleborg's leading position in the area of printing blankets, i.e. polymer coated fabrics for use in offset printing.
“The acquisition supports Trelleborg's strategy to strengthen our leading positions within attractive and profitable market segments,†said Dario Porta, president of Trelleborg Coated Systems, which is part of Trelleborg Engineered Systems business area. “Printing blankets for the graphic industry is an attractive segment for us, where several applications and geographical markets, not least in Latin America, show steady growth.â€
Trelleborg said Printec has an attractive portfolio of advanced products and shows strong profitability, and will give Trelleborg a good position in Latin America.
