Michelin to expand Davydovo plant - report
ERJ staff report (DS)
Moscow - Michelin is planning an expansion at its tyre factory in Davydovo, Russia. A report by Interfax quoted Thierry Chiche, chief of Michelin in Russia and the CIS saying Michelin will invest euro 35 million in the unit. Michelin had not responded to requests for clarification as we posted this news story.
The investment will increase the range and types of tyre made in the plant, said the report. The DavyDvo plant was set up in 2004 using old equipment taken from the former factory in Stoke-on-Trent, UK and makes around 1.5 million tyres annually in sizes up to 16-inch riim diameter.
