Freudenberg to buy share in Irish medical company

Weinheim, Germany -- A subsidiary of Freudenberg Group is to buy a 50-percent stake in Irish company, Cambus Medical. Cambus Medical manufactures high-precision hypotubes and micro-component solutions for advanced catheter systems.
As a first step, the Freudenberg subsidiary, Helix Medical will provide a loan to finance the expansion of the operational side of the business. The Freudenberg Business Group will then acquire a 50 percent share of Cambus Medical as of January 2013.
Helix Medical already holds a 50 percent share in the Irish manufacturer VistaMed, a leading manufacturer of high-quality, speciality catheters and extruded medical tubing. The new partnership with Cambus Medical extends Helix Medical's existing portfolio to include components as well as design and manufacturing services for manufacturers of minimally invasive surgical devices.
Cambus Medical operates a manufacturing site in Spiddal, near Galway, Ireland. Its manufacturing capabilities range from hypotube coating, to laser precision cutting, EDM and ECM machining, injection molding, laser welding and marking, as well as assembly and packaging of the end product.
