Osaka - Toyo Tire is planning a new tech centre in Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. The new operation will bring together the existing tech centres in Ibaraki City. And Itami City, Hyogo. It will be open from November 2013.
The new unit will combine basic research and applied research in tyre technologies. It is being designed to be closely aligned with manufacturing and marketing functions to speed up the process of developing a tyre for market.
Toyo's existing R&D centre in Ibaraki has a floor area of 5000 m2 and focusses on Basic research on products and materials. The existing Tire Tech centre in Itami has an area of 1600 m2
The new unit will have a floor area of 22,000 m2.
