China holds butyl rubber processing seminar
ERJ staff report (DS)
Dalian, China - A seminar on the processing of butyl and halobutyl rubber was held in China on 14 July. It featured speakers from Mesnac and Tiansheng General Machinery Co., Ltd.
The meeting focussed on technology and equipment, with the plan to process domestically-made butyl rubber. Up to now almost all butyl has been imported. However, ?? recently announced the opening of a new line. However, the drying and finishing of the material has proved difficult, and domestic suppliers of drying equipment have been unable to deliver suitable equipment.
Dalian Tiansheng said it has finally been able to develop equipment capable of fast, effective drying of the rubber, based on its own research and intellectual property. Compared wit international suppliers, said Mesnac, the Tiansheng equipment offers improved energy consumption and lower prices.
