Tyre data provider joins TyreSafe
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Colchester, UK -- Independent wheel and tyre data provider, DriveRight, has become the newest member of tyre safety organisation TyreSafe.
DriveRight already supplies the data which goes into TyreSafe's tyre pressure app and provides users with the correct tyre pressure for their car simply by entering their registration number.
“The breadth of our membership keeps growing and most aspects of the automotive industry are represented, from car and tyre manufacturers, to insurance firms, retailers, emergency services, public organisations and specialist commercial businesses,†commented Stuart Jackson, chairman of TyreSafe.
He added, “However, what they all have in common is a burning desire to raise the issues surrounding defective or illegal tyres and educate the motoring public about correct tyre maintenance. It's a testament to all of them that they are so willing and passionate about making the roads a safer place to be.â€
TyreSafe claims that since its inception in 2006, its activities have helped reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured in a tyre related incident by 38 percent.
As a member of TyreSafe, DriveRight will benefit from the enhancement of its own corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes, as well as early campaign awareness so that it can integrate it within its own marketing activities.
Central to DriveRight's business is a database of OE tyre fitments which is continually updated to provide accurate fitment data and is used by manufacturers, distributors, retailers, resellers and other organisations connected to the automotive industry.
