Shandong Province, China -- The EU accounts for around 40 percent of all the exported tyres from Shandong Province. The region overtook the UNited States as the main export destination following the imposition of import tariffs to the US
With the EU becoming so important, tyre makers in Shandong are having to upgrade their manufacturing processes to compete effectively in the EU market, as th region introduces lablelling regulations from 1 November this year.
Zhang Hongmin said that round 80 percent of the tyre makers in Shandong can meet the initial minimum standards of the EU label rules and some can even meet the upgraded limits scheduled for introduction in 2015.
The lengthy report on CRIA website said the key to achieving good label scores is based on the raw materials used in tyre manufacture.
