ERJ staff report (DS)
Beijing, China -- A consortium led by Lanzhou Petrochemical Research Institute Center claims to have produced solution-SBR for use in tyres. The other members of the consortium are North China Chemical Sales Company and Shandong Jinyu Tyre Co., Ltd.
A report on the CRIA website said Jinyu has now made over 2 million tyres using the new polymer. It was created after extensive research involving silica, polybutadiene rubber and low PAH oils, as well as mixing and processing efforts
The material is also undergoing trials at Shandong Linglong and Triangle Tire
Lanzhou said it sold 2000 tonnes of the S-SBR material in 2011, but is now selling it at around 400 tonnes per month.
