China to use meteorology in rubber tapping

Yunnan, China - Yunnan Province has launched a service to help rubber tapping, called Yunnan Natural Rubber Meteorological Service. The service aims to track links between weather patterns such as rain, humidity and wind, against rubber yields and the occurance of moulds, frost damage and other tree damage.
The system involves the use of 85 automated weather stations in various cities and on plantations. It is fully automated and will offer services over the web and on mobile devices.
