Bridgestone at Essen: reducing fleets' cost of ownership

Essen, Germany - Bridgestone's truck tyre division says that customers can reduce the overall fleet costs by buying Bridgestones. The company said its stand at Essen demonstrates why truck fleet operators should concentrate not on price, but on the cost per kilometre over the total tyre life.

On display for the first time in Europe at the 2012 Reifen International Tyre Fair in Essen, the new Ecopia H-Steer 001 and Ecopia H-Drive 001 (size 315/70 R22.5) are the most ecological and economical truck tyres that Bridgestone has ever developed.

Independent road tests* show that new H-Steer and H-Drive models provide 18.9% and 26.5% lower rolling resistance respectively than the current Ecopia series, leading to 4.4% lower fuel consumption. Fuel represents around 25% of total costs in long-haul transportation.

The stand also presents the company's Total Tyre Life solution for dealers and fleets, comprising truck and bus Bridgestone and Bandag products, services and business support.
