Vibracoustic receives Honda Quality Performance Award
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Weinheim, Germany - Vibracoustic North America has received the Quality Performance Award for the highest possible product quality in 2011 from Honda Motor Co.
The prize assessed not only the quality, but also the price/performance ratio and the punctuality of supplies, Vibracoustic said in a 23 May news release. This prize was awarded for the group of products including torsional vibration dampers, which are used by Honda for its Civic- and Accord-series vehicles for the North American market.
The prize was received by Gene Hawkins, Vice President Vibracoustic North America LP for the Torsional Vibration Damper Division in Ligonier, Indiana, at the annual Honda Supplier Conference held 12 April in Columbus, Ohio.
At a separate ceremony at the beginning of May, two senior engineers from Honda's engine works in Anna, Ohio, presented the prize to the staff at the Ligonier facility.
Hide Iwata, President of Honda of America Manufacturing and responsible for production in North America, attributes to US sub-contractors like Vibracoustic a pivotal role in the extension of Honda's activities in America and around the globe.
“The prize represents a great honour for us. Honda is famous for its high-quality products and makes, therefore, the most stringent demands on its suppliers as well,†commented Hawkins.
