Mitsui gives further update following explosion

Tokyo -- Mitsui Chemicals has updated the information regarding damage caused by the 22 April explosion and fire at its Iwakuni-Ohtake works in Japan.
The company reports off premises damage of 999 community buildings and homes (previous report 992). The company said it continues to respond to needs of persons affected by this accident and undertake necessary repair work.
Mitsui said it is continuing to clear out debris and dismantle machinery unnecessary to the investigation in preparation for restoration activities, as permitted by the authorities. It is also clearing out residual liquid at its resorcinol and cymene plants.
