BST opens fund for victims of Thai explosion

Map Ta Phut, Thailand - BST Elastomers will establish a fund worth Baht 10 million (euro 250,000) to fund post-explosion care for victims and relatives of the explosion at its factory in Map Ta Phut, Thailand, which killed 11 and injured over 100 others on 6 May.
Mr.Chaiyot Wongphyat, Managing Director of BST Elastomers Co., Ltd said BSTE's executives and employees are deeply saddened by the sudden and tragic effects of the fire incident and consequent situation. We truly apologize for this unexpected incident. We've seriously taken steps to resolve the situation and have tightened our safety measures in a move to prevent further damage to the communities.
The company added that The BSTE plant, of which one sixth has been damaged by the fire incident, has temporarily been shut down. BSTE has entirely removed all the chemical residue in the pipes
