NR prices continue upward trend

London - Rubber prices were generally higher after the May Day holidays, although Tokyo prices eased slightly. Tokyo's Tocom Exchange, prices for the six-month contract closed level at yen 314 ($3.91) on Wednesday 02 May. Shorter-dated prices eased to finish just below yen 300 at the close on Wednesday evening.
In Singapore, the TSR20 contract on SGX was trading up 4 at $3.69 for October deliveries in late trading on Wednesday, November deliveries were at $3.70, while May deliveries were also up about 4 at about $3.68 in trading during the evening session.
In India, NMCE said May deliveries closed down Rs 2 at Rs 193 ($3.65).
In China the Shanghai Futures Exchange contract for May closed up by a fraction of a yuan at Yuan 28.3 ($4.49) per kilo on Wednesday.
