Lummus benefits from butadiene extraction technologies

Chicago, Illinois - Chicago Bridge & Iron Company said it is benefitting from the global shortage of butadiene monomer through supply of butadiene extraction technology.
In an earnings call, Dan McCarthy, President, of a Chicago subsidiary, Lummus Technology said, “supply has also been negatively impacted by the transition towards gas feedstocks. We have benefited from this by building butadiene extraction plans to recover more of the byproduct butadiene and also have seen a spike in interest in our Catadiene process, which converts butane to butadiene.â€
