Global Bioenergies discusses bio-butadiene

Evry France - Bio-sourced monomer company Global BioEnergies reported an increased loss for the six months to 31 December 2011. The company said the increased loss was planned and comes as a result of increased spending on facilities to to industrialise the biological isobutene production process.
The company also confirmed its agreement with Synthos SA to develop a commercial process to make butadiene monomer from renewable resources. The agreement includes R&D funding, possible multi-million euro development fees,
royalty payments, shared exploitation rights on the different applications of the molecule and a
EUR 1.4 million equity investment in Global Bioenergies from Synthos, which was finalised in
September 2011.
