Monrovia, California -- China Manufacturers Alliance LLC (CMA) has added a seven-year limited casing warranty to a number of Double Coin-brand low rolling resistance truck tyres being sold under the recently launched “OptiGreen†series designation.
The warranty includes 50-percent free replacement and guarantee covering two retreadings on the FR605 steer tyre, FD405 drive tyre and FT105 trailer tyre, CMA said. The extended warranty does not apply to the newest tyre in the series, the FT125 wide-base trailer tyre.
All of the tyres designated “OptiGreen†are SmartWay verified under the Environmental Protection Agency's program to identify and promote fuel-saving technologies. CMA is planning to add a fifth tyre, the FD425 wide-base drive tyre, to the OptiGreen lineup later this year.
The creation of the OptiGreen designation reflects CMA's commitment to provide tyres that not only provide fuel savings but also has a positive impact on the environment, according to CMA Vice President Aaron Murphy.
“These tyres, and the ISO14001 manufacturing environment they're produced in, allow us to confidently market these SmartWay-verified products knowing that they reduce energy consumption in the creation, usage and retreadability portions of their life,†Murphy said.
The FR605 is available in six sizes and features a five-rib tread design, extensive siping and side decoupling groove; the FD405 promotes lower cost per mile through a closed shoulder and 26/32nd-inch tread depth with stone drilling protectors; the FT105 and FT125 have wide, flat footprints to promote even wear.
CMA is a subsidiary of China's Double Coin Holdings Ltd.
