Dublin, Ireland - Notch Consulting has published the 2012 version of its regular, Carbon Black World Data Book. The 383-page report was first published in January 2012 and is available for a price of around $7000, depending on delivery options. A subscription includes three quarterly updates (published April 2012, July 2012, and October 2012). These quarterly reports provide quarterly and monthly contract prices for major carbon black
grades for the United States, the European Union, and Brazil, and monthly spot prices for China.
The Notch report is the industry-standard on the carbon black industry. publishers say, "It provides detailed coverage for 27 leading countries, as well as demand for 14 smaller national markets. Historical data are provided for all years from 2000 through 2011, while forecasts are provided for 2012, 2015, and 2025. Data provided for each country and region include carbon black capacity by company and plant, capacity utilisation, production, imports, exports, apparent consumption, demand by market (passenger tyres, truck/bus tyres, other tyres, non-tyre rubber, and speciality applications) and demand by grade (tread, carcass, and other), as well as market value and average pricing. Note that this report includes only furnace blacks and so excludes small volume speciality blacks such as thermal black, acetylene black, channel black, etc."
