ERJ staff report (TB)
Akron, Ohio -- The US-based Tire Society is seeking technical papers for its 31st Annual Meeting and Conference on Tire Science and Technology, to be held Sept. 18-19 in Cleveland in conjunction with the 2012 International Tire Exhibition & Conference (ITEC).
Interested authors are invited to submit abstracts of papers on topics related to tyre materials, mechanics, processing, manufacturing, and applications for presentation at the 2012 conference and publication in the society's journal.
This conference is attended by engineers and scientists from the tyre and vehicle industries, academia and government from around the world.
In addition to technical sessions of submitted papers, the conference features a keynote address given by a corporate leader in the tyre industry, a plenary lecture given by a leading scientist and an awards banquet with an after-dinner speaker.
The conference will be held at Cleveland's I-X Center, which is adjacent to Cleveland Hopkins Airport.
With the meeting being held concurrently with the start of ITEC, Tire Society attendees will be able to attend the exhibition and see presentations covering the state of the art of tyre technology, from tyre science research all the way through manufacturing, distribution, and recycling.
The conference technical sessions will be organised according to the subject matter of the submitted abstracts. Sample topics include tyre mechanics, vehicle dynamics, rolling resistance, noise, aging/endurance, fatigue/adhesion, etc.
Abstracts of papers should be submitted by March 1. Abstracts should observe style conventions as exemplified in Tire Science & Technology. Authors are encouraged to visit the Tire Society website where abstracts are available for perusal.
Questions regarding submitting a paper should be emailed to 2011 Conference Program Chair Lin Kung..
Tire Society is a not-for-profit organisation established to disseminate knowledge and stimulate scientific and engineering development in the science and technology of tyres through seminars, technical meetings and publication of its authoritative journal, Tire Science & Technology.
