Baosteel to begin steelcord production later this year

Jiangsu Haimen Haibao Industrial Park, China -- Jiangsu Baosteel has begun construction of a new facility to make high quality steel rod. The company expects to begin production of tyre-grade steel cord from the rod by the end of this year.
The project has two phases; each will result in annual capacity for 50 000 tonnes of steelcord, totalling 100,000 tonnes annually. Jiangsu Baosteel precision steel wire project is located in Jiangsu Haimen Haibao Industrial Park and is mainly engaged in auto tire steel cord wire and the photovoltaic industry cut steel wire products.
