ERJ staff report (DS)
Mainz, Germany -- The environment agency of the Rheinland-Pfalz region of Germany has tested a series of tyres for their PAH content. The results are consistent with previous tests with around 10 percent of tyres tested found to be illegal, due to non-compliance with the EU REACH regulations.
These tests were limited, with just 19 tyres tested, of which two (both made in China) were found to be non-compliant.
The two non-compliant products were a 235/ 45 WR17 car tyre made by Shandong Linglong Tyre Co., Ltd. and a 195/ 50 VR16 sold under the Nankang brand.
