JSR complete S-SBR expansion at Yokkaichi, announces Thailand plant

TOKYO - JSR Corporation has completed the 25,000 tons/year expansion of the S-SBR line at its Yokkaichi plant, bringing capacity there to 60,000 tons/year. The line will commence full production this month, following initial production on 16 Dec. The company also confirmed plans for a new S-SBR plant in Thailand.
JSR's Thailand plant wil have capacity for 100,000 tonnes peryear, coming on stream in two stages. The initial unit of 50 kt/year will come on stream in 2013, with the second stage coming on stream two years later.
JSR possesses an S-SBR production base in Europe as well, holding a capacity rights agreement for of the manufacturing of 30,000 tons/year with Styron Europe GmbH. With the recent expansion, JSR's global manufacturing capacity of S-SBR now totals 90,000 tons/year.
