Sri Lanka to step up Rubber product promotion

Colombo, Sri Lanka -- The Sri Lankan government is to extend promotion of its rubber products manufacturing segment. The Government of Sri Lanka has reiterated the significance of rubber industry as primary contributor to industrial development, export income generation while generating high quality employment.
As a first step toward this, the government is seeking to develop a comprehensive database and to design, develop and conduct a pilot workforce survey of the Rubber manufacturing industry in Sri Lanka. To do this, the government is seeking consultants who can develop appropriate methodologies tools and implementation plans.
The selected firm is expected to develop comprehensive data base and to design, develop and conduct a pilot workforce survey for rubber manufacturing industry in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is the world capital for making tyres for the fork-lift truck segment, local companies also make conveyor belts, dipped latex goods and other products.
