Yokohama to raise US consumer tyre prices Nov. 1
ERJ staff report (TB)
Fullerton, California -- Yokohama Tire Corp. will raise prices on consumer tyres in the US by up to 8 percent, effective Nov. 1.
The change affects Yokohama's passenger, performance and light truck tyres, YTC said. There will be in-line adjustments, as well, to be announced at a later date.
Shawn Denlein, director of sales, consumer products, cited “the costs of raw materials, energy and transportation remaining at very high levels†as the reasons for the increase. “Unfortunately, today's challenging business climate makes it necessary for us to adjust our prices.â€
Yokohama last raised prices on consumer tyres in North America on March 1, by up to 8 percent, with in-line adjustments.
