JK Tyre produces 3 millionth truck radial - report

    Mumbai -- JK Tyre has produced over 3 million truck/bus radial tyres, accordeing to a report in the India Infoline, quoting Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd.

    The paper quoted him saying, "We are the market leaders in Truck/Bus Radials with a market share of over 40 percent. Our Truck/Bus Radials are fondly called by our customers as “the Baadshah of Radials” Our green field facility in Chennai will be soon be rolling out Radial tyres, this will be our second Truck/Bus Radials manufacturing facility after Mysore.”

    The paper said JK is building a greenfield TBR factory in Chennia and is also expanding its existing factory in Mysore to 1 million units/year. Current capacity for all tyres at JK -- including the Tornel car tyre capacity -- said the paper is 15.8 million units/year
