ERJ staff report (DS)
Sendai, Japan -- Output at Toyo's car tyre plant in Sendai is up to 70 percent of nominal capacity, and should reach 100 percent in May, said the company.
Output stopped after the earthquake a month ago, and has been slowly recovering. Initial production re-started on 8 April. As of 10 April, output was 40 percent, but from 12 April the comapny increased that to 70 percent
Toyo said, "The plan for the future is to step up the rate of operations in stages while responding flexibly to supply and logistical issues, so that by May, operations may resume at full capacity."
