Chinese rubber imports nearly doubled in March -reports

Beijing -- Chinese Rubber imports in March 2011 increased 90.9 percent over the February figure to 210,000 tons and 10.5 percent over the volume from March 2010, according to a Chinese website, citing the General Administration of Customs.
The report on CapitalVue said total rubber imports in the first three months decreased 4.6 percent year-on-year to 470,000 tons, but imports of synthetic rubber grew by almost 69 percent in March over the previous month, but were 15 percent lower than the same month a year ago.
