Japan to help China with tyre recycling technology
ERJ staff report (DS)
Beijing -- China and Japan are to cooperate on waste recycling in the areas of tyres, food waste and packaging. The deal forms part of China's 11th five-year plan which calls on the country to develop a sustainable economy based on recycling of resources.
At a ceremony in Beijing on 7 April, representatives of China's National Development and Reform Commission and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) marked the official launch of the project.
A pilot project in Qingdao Province will study disposal of waste tyres.
