Toyo to support quake relief efforts

Osaka, Japan Toyo Tire & Rubber Co Ltd is to donate 150 million Japanese yen (approximately $1.9 Million in US dollars) to assist in the relief efforts in Japan following the earthquake and tsunami..
Toyo Tires Group has close and long-standing ties to the communities of both Miyagi and Fukushima Prefectures, which have suffered devastating losses in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami. The Group has Toyo Tire & Rubber's Sendai Factory (located in Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture), Fukushima Rubber Co., Ltd., a manufacturing subsidiary (in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture), Iwaki Factory of the Soflan Wiz Co., Ltd., another manufacturing subsidiary (in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture), as well as a number of branches and sales offices of Toyo Tire Japan and Toyo Chemical / Industrial Products Sales Corporation, in the region.
The group said in a statement that it expresses its, "deepest condolences to all of the families who have lost their loved ones or have otherwise suffered due to the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami which struck the Pacific Coast of the Tohoku Region in Japan on March 11, 2011. It is our hope that the region will be able to recover swiftly from this disaster."
