Power outages to reduce Zeon's output
ERJ staff report (DS)
Tokyo -- Synthetic rubber maker Zeon Corp has said there were no physical damages, personnel injuries or casualties reported at its Japan facilities following last Friday's disaster. Zeon also has confirmed that the manufacturing facilities did not sustain any damages. However it warned that power supply issues may lead to reducgtions in output.
The company said in a statement, "due to phased electric power outages, our raw material supply condition is unstable; there is a possibility that Zeon's production supply may be affected for a while. Also, because of the heavy traffic and difficult logistic conditions in some parts of Japan, products supplied from Zeon to specific areas may be affected."
The company said it did not expect the impact on Zeon's business performance to be significant, but if that view changes, the company will issue a further statement.
