Zhlobin, Belarus - Executives of Michelin visited the Belarussian steelcord producer BMZ on 1 March and, according to BMZ expect to sign a long-term supply deal.

In a statement from BMZ, Deputy Director General for hardware production, IA Cherniavsky, good opportunities for further enhancing cooperation between BMZ and Michelin exist. It was noted that over the last year the steel maker produced 17,000 tons of steelcord, which accounted for 17 percent of total deliveries, and 6,000 tons (20 percent) of bead wire. To date «Michelin» is for BMZ second-largest supplier to European consumers.

The statement quoted Latslo Istvan, Michelin's Director of procurement commending the collaboration of two companies and expressed confidence that aside a reserve for expansion of ties.

next year year, BMZ and Michelin will celebrate 10 years of cooperation. It is possible that by that date the two companies will sign a further5-year supply deal.
