Bridgestone reports no injuries, damage in quake
ERJ staff report (TB)
Tokyo -- Bridgestone Corp. reports no critical damage to its facilities and no injuries to employees in Japan following the 9.0-magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami that struck off Japan's northeastern coast on Friday.
Bridgestone said on Monday that it has suspended operations at some of its Japanese factories in order to conduct safety inspections, which are expected to be completed as soon as possible. The Yokohama factory has already partially re-started production following an inspection.
Bridgestone operates 24 factories in Japan, with nearly 15,000 employees.
