Paris - Following a concept launch in 2009, Hutchinson has now commercialy launched its Serenity tyre for bicycles. The product is claimed to be indestructible and 100 percent flat-proof.
Instead of a pneumatic innertube, the system relies on a solid micro-cellular (yet elastic) insert. This is combined with a special tyre. The combination is said to offer comparable rolling resistance to a pneumatic system. One of the major drawbacks of previous puncture-proof bicycle tyres has been the effort needed to push them along.
