Trial of former Wyko engineers begins in Knoxville

Knoxville, Tennessee -- Two former employees of Wyko Tire Technology Inc. have gone on trial in Tennessee, accused of industrial spying. The criminal trial opened yesterday (Wed. 1 December) in US District Court in Knoxville before Judge Thomas Phillips and is scheduled for 10 days.
The two accused, Clark Alan Roberts, 47, and Sean Edward Howley, 39 have since been dismissed from their former employer.
The two are alleged to have taken photographs of tyre building equipment at a Goodyear factory and passed the information back to colleagues who were developing a similar machine for a Chinese client.
