Balkrishna to set up fourth plant in Bhuj - report

Bhuj, Gujarat, India -- Balkrishna Tyres has reportedly announced plans for a fourth tyre factory. Indian Paper DNA quoted Arvind Poddar, vice-chairman and MD, Balkrishna Industries, saying “It is a greenfield project, wherein we are planning to invest around Rs1,000-1,200 crore (euro 178 million) over the next two years,†The paper said the new plant would add annual capacity for 110 000 tonnes, taking overall capacity to 260 000 tonnes.
In addition, said the paper, Balkrishna would invest Rs 2000 million (euro 32.3 million) to increase capacity at its existing facilities -- one in Aurangabad and two in Rajasthan -- by September 2011
