Michelin's Tigar to add 220 jobs in Serbia

Pirot, Serbia -- The Michelin-owned Tigar Corp. has reached agreement with the local government to add 1.5 million units of production, bringing annual capacity to 8 million car and light truck tyres annually. The investment of euro 16 million will add 220 jobs. The Ministry of Economy and Regional Development of Serbia will contribute euro 880 000 to support the creation of new jobs.
The expansion is due on stream in 2012
Tigar currently employs around 2100 people, said Tigar CEO, Vladimir Nikolic, in a speech marking the announcement.
