Lyon, France - In conjunction with the results announced last week, a spokesman for Rhodia Silcea said the unit will bring on stream its new silica plant in China according to schedule, during the second week of August. A formal opening ceremony will be held later in the year.
The company said the 70 kt/year plant will immediately run at fulll capacity, following its corporate strategy of working with customers to plan capacity additions in a strategic way. The spokesman declined to comment on further expansions in the region.
