Nokian ceo expects greater share in Russian and Nordic tyre markets
ERJ staff report (RD)
Nokian, Finland -- Kim Gran, ceo of Finnish tyre maker Nokian, expects the company's share of Russian and Nordic tyre sales to increase in 2010 as over all demand increases, the Nokian chief said during his presentation at the recent Handelsbanken Basic Industry Seminar.
Discussing Nokian's tyre action plan, the ceo said the company will focus on increasing sales, defending price positions, launching new products and making low investments and capacity expansions subject to demand.
The Finnish company, which reported sales up by 18.1 percent to Euro 183.8 million in the first quarter of 2010 (Q1), compared to the same period last year, is expecting to increase tyre price by 2-6 percent in mid 2010, the statement said.
The company expects to improve net sales and operating result in 2010, compared to the previous year.
