Michelin hosted student teams ahead of Eco Marathon
ERJ staff report (DS)
Clermont Ferrand, France -- Michelin recently hosted a visit from 380 students and several of the prototypes that are scheduled to take part in tomorrow's Shell Eco Marathon Europe in Germany.
In the company of technical staff from Michelin, the students - who hail from some of the world's top universities - were given a chance to test and fine-tune their respective vehicles ahead of the 2010 Shell Eco Marathon which will take place on May 6-7 at Germany's Lausitz Racing Circuit. This year's entry features 213 teams representing 22 nations.
A number of Michelin's partner teams taking part in the event gathered at the French firm's proving ground near Clermont-Ferrand, France, on April 16-18 for a special test. In 2009, 'Microjoule', the prototype built by the La Joliverie secondary school in Nantes, France, won the event after covering 3,771km on a single litre of petrol.
