Delivery part of a “long-term” deal for TPO supply for production of ‘circular carbon black’
Warsaw – Polish end-of-life tire recycler Contec SA has delivered “multiple shipments” of tire pyrolysis oil (TPO) to Orion SA, as part of a long-term supply deal signed earlier in the year.
For the initial shipments, Contec said it processed “significant quantities” of ELT, using its ‘Molten’ pyrolysis technology.
The two sides signed a supply deal in February for the delivery TPO to Orion for the production of ‘circular carbon black’.
In a 26 June release, Contec said the deal will enable “large-scale production of circular grades” by Orion for global application in tire and rubber goods.
Contec added that Orion is “the only company” to have manufactured circular carbon black from 100% TPO.
The product is claimed to be able to replace virgin carbon black in a wide range of demanding applications.
