Michelin puts maps on the iPhone

Paris -- Users of Apple's iPhone can now get a free app from Michelin which gives access to online maps and the option to pay for real-time traffic data for French roads.
To access the service, iPhone users can install one of two free applications - MobileTag or ViaMichelin. Then use a matrix code to get scanned provides traffic information from ViaMichelin for the corresponding city and its surroundings.
Michelin said, "The new map also demonstrates the complementary nature of the different cartography resources developed by Michelin, combining the easy readability of a printed map for route planning with mobile phone access to ViaMichelin's real-time traffic data. The result is an invaluable mobility enhancer for travelers, enabling them to get around more easily and efficiently."
