Bridgestone Bandag names Damon vp of marketing

Muscatine, Iowa -- Bridgestone Americas has promoted Scott Damon to vice president of marketing for its Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) unit, effective immediately.
He had been director, strategic channels and products for BBTS. In his new role, Mr. Damon will be responsible for the creation and implementation of tyre solutions strategies that support BBTS' new and retread tyre sales business, the company said.
Mr. Damon began his career with the company in 1996 as research engineer, retread process with Muscatine-based Bandag Inc., progressing through a number of key roles in marketing. In 2005 he was promoted to director of marketing and three years later was named director, strategic channels and products. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and an MBA from Frostburg State University, Frostburg, Maryland.
In a BBTS statement, Kurt Danielson, vice president, sales and marketing, said Mr. Damon's “extensive experience in marketing, along with his strong leadership skills, will serve him well in his new role. We're committed to offering our partners a total tyre solution and the very best marketing support and I'm confident Scott will do an excellent job leading our strategic marketing efforts going forward.â€
