Apollo launches Safe Drive project in Iran
ERJ staff report (RD)
Gurgaon, India -- Apollo Tyres has launched its Safe Drive initiative in Tehran, capital of Iran. The initiative aims to ensure safety by educating drivers and owners on various aspects of tyre care maintenance such as inflation pressure and tread wear checks, Apollo said 12 March.
The India-based tyre maker sent members of its international sales team to conduct tyre checks at petrol pumps on major highways for two days. The company hopes that contact with ordinary customers will encourage safer driving on the highways during the Iranian New Year celebrations, the statement said.
Apollo is also working with fleet owners in Iran on a “360 degree consumer connect programme†to guarantee maximum benefits from tyres in term of mileage, as well as educating local garage owners and mechanics on correct fitment, balancing procedures and appropriate tyre applications.
The company mainly exports cross ply tyres and passenger car radials to Iran, the statement added.
