AGCO, Trelleborg strengthen OE ties
ERJ staff report (TB)
Duluth, Georgia - Trelleborg Wheel Systems S.p.A. and farm vehicle producer AGCO Corp. are strengthening their decade-old relationship, agreeing to cooperate on developing tyres for AGCO's range of Challenger-, Fendt-, Massey-Ferguson- and Valtra-brand vehicles.
“´The new partnership is a natural evolution of the experience both companies have gained and strengthens the positioning of both brands,†said Stefano Bettinelli, OE director at Trelleborg's agricultural and forestry tyres division. “Its main objective is the development of innovative solutions that anticipate the needs of agricultural specialists.â€
The deal calls for some of AGCO's tractors to be equipped with Trelleborg tyres. Financial terms of the “long-term collaboration agreement†were not disclosed.
The deal is similar to one AGCO signed last year with Group Michelin. That arrangement called for the firms to work together to improve in three areas: research and development, marketing and suppy chain, Michelin said at the time.
Trelleborg said the AGCO agreement “illustrates the desires of both companies to continue investing in specialization, focusing on innovation, quality and excellent customer service.â€
Founded in 1990, AGCO offers tractors, combines, hay tools, sprayers, tillage equipment and implements, and related replacements parts. It reported sales of $8.4 billion in 2008.
