Cyberspace -- Bridgestone is trying viral marketing to launch its latest UHP tyre. The launch use a Facebook page, supported by YouTube, Twitter, web banner ads and a dedicated website. The company will show the tyre at next week's Auto Salon in Geneva.
The social network seeds are intended to drive traffic to the website, which is hosted by UK TV celebrity presenter, Vicki Butler-Henderson. From 24th February at 14h00 visitors to the site are welcomed by Vicki in a virtual Bridgestone Potenza pit-stop garage housing an F1 racing car. The site is available in five languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian
Bridgestone has developed its new flagship Potenza S001 UHP tyre for the world's top sports cars. Designed for maximum sporty performance, the tyre also delivers high efficiency with reduced rolling resistance. It clearly meets the challenging demands of heavier luxury sports cars and the new breed of lighter, extreme sports models - the Potenza S001 is already original equipment on the Aston Martin Rapide and Ferrari 458 Italia.
The Potenza S001 is available initially in 19 sizes (18â€ to 20â€ rims) in the replacement market throughout Europe since January 2010.
