Dunstable UK -- At the end of January a warehouse in Dunstable was broken into. The thieves managed to steal a number of tyres which had a combined value of over £100,000.
It is believed by the police handling the case in Bedfordshire that the crime took place between 5pm on the 30th January and 7pm on January 31st. Universal Tyres own the warehouse, which is located on the Dukeminster Estate.
Police say the tyres were mainly Michelin, Goodyear, Pirelli and Avon brand. The thieves also took tools and equipment used for mounting tyres.
Detective Sergeant Louisa Glynn - who is heading up the investigation - has appealed for witnesses that might have seen any suspicious behavior on the night in question to come forward. She was quoted as saying, â€œour appeal is not only directed at people in Bedfordshire and neighboring Hertfordshire, but nationwideâ€.
