India puts anti-dumping duty on carbon black imports
ERJ staff report (RD)
New Delhi, India -- The Indian Government has imposed anti-dumping duties of between $0.084 (Euro 0.060) - $0.423 per kilogram on imported carbon black used in the rubber industry.
According to a notification from India's Central Board of Customs and Excise (CBEC), the action was taken to protect India's domestic players from cheap shipments from China, Australia, Thailand and Russia.
CBEC said China, Australia, Thailand and Russia have been exporting carbon black to India below their normal value. The notification said the anti-dumping duty will be effective for a period of five years.
